Speaker

Pay speaks on several topics ranging from Expert System User Experience Design, the Role of Design in Management, Development Lifecycles in Complex Enterprises and other topics under those umbrellas. Pay can also respond to requests for custom speaking engagements within those themes, these have included:

“Qualitative Visualization, Visualizing Uncertainty,”
The thesis here is that a new kind of visualization will enable a new kind of cognitive capability. Such systems will revolutionize the relationship between strategy and tactics and the management of detail between those two layers. This will enable unprecedented risk display and risk management in complex multi domain systems, such as in financial services, infrastructure support, government, and healthcare.
(Presented at the Innovation Enterprise Data Visualization Summit)

“Managing Complexity”
Pay discusses a broad spectrum of software design and lifecycle management and user experience process and complex design with Agile. His basic thesis is that there are different sometimes complementary, often contradictory design practices across a range of software system types and picking the right process mix is the hardest part.
(Presented at IXPA Boston)
